Learnt a lot of fun things also, like what i'll look like if i'm shot in the head with my rifle. The entry wound will be tiny, just the size of the bullet head, but the exit wound, to quote the sergeant, will be "f***ing big" because the bullet will spin inside my head and turn my brains into mash potato before blowing the back of my skull apart. What a comforting thought...

Was going to write more about training but realised it is restricted info. Don't want to be sent to detention barracks... supposedly if i spend more than 7 days in there universities won't accept me anymore.

Oh, and people there use expletives rather liberally. Vulgarities are used as adjectives(refer example above), a form of greeting (replacing good morning and hello) , and to express any form of emotion be it positive (delighted) or negative (pissed). The same phrase can carry one of several meanings which is dependant on tone and context. It's so interesting it's even possible to write a thesis on the subject. Don't know if this is official or not, but my unit's stand on vulgarities is that you are allowed to scold a guy but not his papa and mama as well as any of his ancestors. Just the other day, one instructor called me a "coco-nathan". i wonder what that means...

My instructors are conducting a "Stand by Photo" after this book out. A "Stand by Bunk" is when you open up your cupboard for inspection, so a "Stand by Photo" is for the instructors to inspect the photos you bring into camp. Suppose to bring family, class or girlfriend photographs. On the surface, this exercise is meant for the instructors to get to know us better, but the hidden agenda is that they want to see whether we have any pretty sisters and classmates or not, then can intro to them. i'm going to bring them a photo of Kuku BaO. Some of my sergeants are going to ORD soon and will enter uni together with you guys.
