Yeah... Tekong has tons of pens but pencils is sorta gold there...
Sian I was thinking results will come out after we pass out but now it looks like that's not gonna happen. And they quite evil leh... Once get results must call back camp imnmediately and take the next earliest fast craft back to tekong! The rumour going around is that results will be out on a Friday...

After take results i must go back camp regardless of outcome eh... don't have like pity me results bad give one day off that kind of thing. The army damn smart somemore, plan the live firing before results come out so i want to commit suicide also got no ammo... haha... the bayonet also blunt one... army must be very experienced with this kind of thing...
The first round of scholarship interviews for most agencies usually start before results come out then continue until after. Very weird interview yesterday... a lot of long periods of silence when i think they are waiting for a response from me but never ask me any questions so i don't know what to reply... think i screwed up. Then they say my prelim results suck. =)
If i get the scholarship (which i don't think i will), then most prob do engineering or science. Haven't decide where to study, still got like 23 months to ORD. Got abt 10 days leave after BMT so i'll settle it then. Think i might try for overseas. If DSTA don't want me then i study physics in NUS and go teach or try for medicine.
And Kuku BaO is right about graphite being better than diamond. Pencils are an extremely rare commodity on tekong. I've seen a total of 3 pencils on the island since enlistment.

hmm. so did u get e scholarship? wad u plan to study in future arh?? btw. how come ur interview so early onez? i tot scholarship interview normally after As come out onez?
*swallows* dun need to remind me that lar... most prob As coming out 1st week march right? damn scary. i dun wanna think of it!! :S e tot of it makes me nervous. anyway. must enjoy these 2 weeks to max... else later not good result then must stay at home and mourn. :_(

Hey hey people, me book out already! Muahaha....Today got DSTA interview, the commander damn nice let me out last night then go back in the afternoon.
Just came back from field camp, damn fun. Too lazy to dig hole, so constipate until now.=) Never see wild boar, very disappointed.
Then hand itchy go and volunteer for sentry duty. Stand on the hill for 2 hours like idiot in the middle of the night on valentine's day. The officers also in vday mood, so the password that night damn cute one (sweetheart). It's damn gay when you challenge people for the password.
Field camp cannot bathe so every night just bathe with powder, like dry wash like that. Whole platoon powder bath in underwear in the middle of the road. Then we carry rifle and sing the rifle song (refer previous post) in underwear for our sergeant, so fun.
Day training damn fun also. Walk on the dirt path see got car come must jump into longkang and take cover. Jump into longkang don't know how many times a day. Then whole day got "auntie" drill, shout until no voice.
It goes like this:
"EAT KAMBING!!!" (INCOMING)
"EAT KAMBING!!!"
"AUNTIE LIFTED!!!" (ARTI LIFTED)
" AUNTIE, AUNTIE, AUNTIE!!!" (ARTI, ARTI, ARTI)

ahya... i also no flowers ma! mr chok~ u know wad u shud have done? haha... buy urself a bouquet of flowers and ask e delivery guy to send it to school... then u can act to be so surprised. :) but i think buy flowers not worth it.. cuz e flower will die. buy diamond ring better... *hint hint* okay... a little too late to hint now.. but nvm... not too early for nxt year. :p
haha i know u all use rifleS..my english not that bad la i understand the other meaning...hahaha..i still cant get over the fact that i din receive anything for vday this year! its so sad..*sobs*den my colleagues most of them got roses from their husbands..but it was quite funny cos the deliverymen all duno how to get to our office, they called to ask for directions..so no surprise..haha..

2) No tigers but got wild boar in the forest. Not fun to get chased by wild boar but i can imagine it would be fun to watch.
3) Big gun = Heavy gun. Not fun to carry around.
4) We actually play with rifles, to play with your gun is something else altogether.

yep.. meiyun is leaving for aus this sunday..oops is cant make it cos having reunion dinner at my grandma's place..whoever's going pls help me tell her bon voyage okay?
u guys in the army..so lucky la..the other time my fren told me he was going into the jungle for 1 week ..so cool la..(except the part abt only bathing once in the entire week) i want to go to the jungle too..want to see tigers in the wild! hahaha..and u alll can play wif guns..biG guns too! so fun..hais..im stoning at my workplace now..haf been doing the same thing since morning..sian la.
hahaha meiqi u're still looking for ur ideal husband ah..no hope la..i tink there's no perfect guy in this world. either he's rich but ugly or nice but poor..haha u wait like dat hor must wait until ur hair all turn white alr..

My instructors all guys, but neighbouring company got female instructor... which is why we are warned not to make any loud references to the human anatomy while in the vicinity lest we get charged for harresment. i don't think i want to risk my life for Kuku BaO. DB is no fun place. If Kuku BaO is really desperate, i think i can intro you the cookhouse aunties. They're really nice ladies you know, always give me extra dessert. You so cute they sure like you.
And my bunk got rich kid who just came back from Australia if Meiqi is interested. Tall tall... not bad looking... a swimmer who trained under Ian Thorpe's coach...one year our junior... but he told me he'll like a big jie jie for his girlfriend...
And there's the sergeant who's going to study medicine... future doctor aka rich guy... best trainee in my platoon a few batches ago... tall enough... always has a no nonsense look... but i'm sure it's part of the job to look pissed the whole day...
And there's the VJ guy from S3 faculty... smart guy... potential scholar... tall too... plays many instruments... names his trombone Lubiana... saw you and Shu Hui practising San Men Xia outside the PT and loved your music... said the sound quality as good as from CD... but the idiot never buy tickets to Infusia... because hear you guys practise already contented...
And there's May^2's friend...*grin*... *snigger*... tall guy... basketballer... asked me to bring our class photo to camp bcos *cough* ... *ahem*... my sore throat is killing me...
Yes, we have to dig holes to do business in and cover it up but not anywhere we want because there are specific business areas designated by white-taped trees. This is to prevent some poor guy from digging his foxhole on such a spot. The soil in the business area is loose and much easier to dig though. Poor me was trying to hammer a tent pin into a corestone which was rather dumb. Outfield helps me appreciate my O level geog much much more.
Oh yeah, where is Meiyun going this Sunday? Studying overseas? I think all the guys have to book in on Sunday though.

Learnt a lot of fun things also, like what i'll look like if i'm shot in the head with my rifle. The entry wound will be tiny, just the size of the bullet head, but the exit wound, to quote the sergeant, will be "f***ing big" because the bullet will spin inside my head and turn my brains into mash potato before blowing the back of my skull apart. What a comforting thought...
Was going to write more about training but realised it is restricted info. Don't want to be sent to detention barracks... supposedly if i spend more than 7 days in there universities won't accept me anymore.
Oh, and people there use expletives rather liberally. Vulgarities are used as adjectives(refer example above), a form of greeting (replacing good morning and hello) , and to express any form of emotion be it positive (delighted) or negative (pissed). The same phrase can carry one of several meanings which is dependant on tone and context. It's so interesting it's even possible to write a thesis on the subject. Don't know if this is official or not, but my unit's stand on vulgarities is that you are allowed to scold a guy but not his papa and mama as well as any of his ancestors. Just the other day, one instructor called me a "coco-nathan". i wonder what that means...
My instructors are conducting a "Stand by Photo" after this book out. A "Stand by Bunk" is when you open up your cupboard for inspection, so a "Stand by Photo" is for the instructors to inspect the photos you bring into camp. Suppose to bring family, class or girlfriend photographs. On the surface, this exercise is meant for the instructors to get to know us better, but the hidden agenda is that they want to see whether we have any pretty sisters and classmates or not, then can intro to them. i'm going to bring them a photo of Kuku BaO. Some of my sergeants are going to ORD soon and will enter uni together with you guys.
