Just got back. But might be going again tomorrow, will decide after waking up.

Totally slack trip - eat then sleep, repeat. Only a bit of excitement involving lots of rain, a toppling tree, a shattered roof and 2 inches of rainfall in the house. Survived it all by sleeping soundly through most of it.

But still a bountiful trip.

Firstly, self-discovery. Learnt that the roof crashing down is not enough to wake me from my afternoon nap (Me being in another biological time zone. It's actually about 9 o'clock in the evening for most people).

Secondly, DVDs. Quite affordable even by my meagre standards due to the favourable exchange rate.

Thirdly, inspirasi. Came up with 2 totally original Hokkien puns - one of which is even a two-parter. Copious quantities of fresh mountain air (enhanced by the lack of a proper roof) must have done the neurons some good. Either that or it's the absolute lack of interference from other sources of mental stimulation. Shall spare you guys the lameness, mostly because i have no idea how to type in Hokkien. Delighted to share the jokes in person though, if anyone desires that of me.

Well, that about sums up the trip.

Post or send me the rest of the photos leh. Especially the "Finger" shot. i want to use as wallpaper.

That was a good bbq. But i didn't get to eat any shrimps bcos they were too good. =(

Maybe we'll have a big ORD party at the end of the year or something. Should be fun.

By the way, i'm going overseas - over the Straits of Johor actually - for a week or two. Leaving later today, no idea when exactly i'll be be back. Going to slack on some mountain top and catch up on my reading (non-academic).

Bye bye.

Think everyone just enjoyed seeing each other again after such a long while... Hope we'd meet up again sometime. I'd just like to add that centralising the location would NOT necessarily be a good idea... I know a fair number of people who wouldn't have turned up if it wasn't so near their house. It isn't fair to those who don't stay in the east, but thought I'd point it out since someone mention

The pit is right behind escape theme park so downtown east is the nearest bus stop i can think of.

Other suggestions ah? Have...

1) Parachute drop
2) Helicopter insertion
3) Amphibious landing on Pasir Ris beach
4) Waterbourne insertion via Sungei Tampines
5) Route march

=)

Anyway, i just did a bit of a recce on my evening jog and found the distance from MRT to be perfectly walkable (600m approx.) Probably most convenient to walk.

Just follow the Tampines Park Connector, quite hard to get lost. If end up in Tampines, just turn around and go the other direction. =p

Don't worry, the CT Rep will surely arrange something to make sure no one gets lost.

If i were still living in Tampines, i would take 3, 17, or 21 and drop outside downtown east.

If i were living in most other places in Singapore, i would take 3, 6, 12, 17, 21, 354 or 358 from Pasir Ris station, and stop at downtown east.

This guy i know very well usually walks home from pasir ris MRT. He usually walks to pasir ris park from home too. But dunno if walkable distance + walkable distance will = walkable distance. He only tried it once. He thinks it might be further than Buona Vista to NUS.

And if i'm not wrong taking a cab will cost less than 4 bucks.

Anyway, if you guys want we can meet at pasir ris MRT then decide how to go.

Me too! Took with a platoon mate on Friday morning... Anyway you should seriously go for private... The rates are like half of school's! And my logic therefore is that I can afford to fail more times. :P Anyway good luck for your practical! Cya this coming Friday....

Just passed the basic driving theory thing. But practical lessons are fully booked till July, darn sian. Well, will have a crash course in July and early August, 3 times a week. Shall see if can get license/licence(?) by September.

Saw a funny sign at the driving school:
"Queue Here for Private Testees".
